Oxytetracycline is a broad spectrum,long-acting antibiotics. It has significant inhibitory effect on both Gram-positive bacteria such as pneumococcus, streptococcus, staphylococcus, Bacillus anthracis, Clostridium tetani, Corynebacterium etc. and Gram-negative bacteria like Escherichia coli, Pasteurella, Salmonella, Brucella, Haemophilus, Klebsiella, Loefflerella mallei etc..
